Macro · Clearly a macro related drop after CPI numbers came out today and further US rate hike anticipation. Since $KOSPI, $SPY, and Nikkei ended up plummeting. Too many potential second/third order effects if $CRWV goes down or frontier labs struggle. Rate hikes amplify fears but sold-off presents opportunities. $LITE has take/pay contracts + sold out until 2029 for lasers, financed by hyperscalers for 2031 demand. Demand visibility + financing (counterparties like $MSFT or $AMZN) too solid to bunch with others in optical sector that have cash. Neocloud requires billions in future toxic financing in high rate environments. Markets will eventually distinguish nuances from actual profitability, financing, and long term demand sustainability rather than treating everything as one bubble.

Remaining 490 stocks accounted for just 30% (+7 pp). Diversification is dead.

Basis not tagged · For the newbs out there. OpenAI pays Microsoft a revenue share (reportedly 20%) through 2030. That accounts for the vast majority of the difference between gross and net revenue.
One could argue that gross revenue is the better KPI for measuring the AI model business performance as this rev share will expire.
This should not be new news for anyone covering this company. But, alas.

@satyanadella!
Windows sparked a platform shift that created a new industry for NVIDIA. Then we invented programmable shading GPUs for DirectX, which led to CUDA.
Then we partnered to bring GPU supercomputers to Azure, which helped OpenAI train GPT. That collaboration inspired us to reinvent Windows for the age of personal agents.
4 years. Thousands of engineering years between us.
So proud of what we built together.

Here's a full recap:
1. SpaceX $SPCX is reportedly seeking $40B in financing, led by Apollo, to fund a massive purchase of NVIDIA $NVDA AI chips, according to the Financial Times. The proposed financing includes roughly $10B in bank loans and $30B of investment-grade debt, with the transaction expected to close in 2027. Elon Musk said in August that SpaceX had “decided to build exclusively on NVIDIA,” specifically highlighting the company's Vera Rubin architecture as SpaceX accelerates investment in AI compute and data center infrastructure.
2. AMD $AMD CEO Lisa Su said AI compute demand continues to outpace supply and expects strong demand to persist for the next several years, with AMD planning to substantially increase supply in 2027. Su said AMD has already expanded supply this year but “could definitely use more,” thanking TSMC for bringing additional manufacturing capacity online while noting that memory remains broadly supply constrained. She added that AMD is working closely with memory suppliers and customers to ensure capacity ramps in sync while keeping its current business model unchanged. Su also described Taiwan as “very critical” to AMD, saying the company plans to increase its investment there while continuing to explore new packaging technologies.
3. Uber $UBER is acquiring ezCater for $2.3B in cash, expanding Uber Eats into the workplace catering market. ezCater has more than 140,000 restaurant partners
