@PeterSchiff: despite a much hotter Sept PPI, gold recovered all losses from the slightly hot CPI; higher inflation is bullish for gold.

Despite a much hotter-than-expected Sept. PPI, gold has already recovered all of yesterday's losses that resulted from a slightly hotter-than-expected Sept. CPI. Maybe investors are finally realizing that higher inflation is bullish for gold. Buy some now! https://www.schiffgold.com

@LindaRaschke: an upside fill came overnight; if gold futures (GC) take out the prior day high it gives a buy signal helped by bonds; for now a rate of change flip at support.

Posting late as I got in from London past midnight last night...upside fill unfolded in overnight session. Main comment going forward: IF GC takes out PDH, then it gives WRR Buy signal (thanks to help from bonds). For now, ROC flip at support...

@LukeGromen, replying, says the gold/oil ratio would blow out to 200 to 500x with oil at $50 to $100.

T@TrendsTailRisks J@judyshel S@SecScottBessent nah...gold/oil ratio would blow out to 200-500x
oil would be $50-100

@PeterSchiff: Sept PPI rose 1.3%, almost triple estimates, annualizing to nearly 17%; YoY 6.3%; core +0.7%, nearly 9% annualized. PPI leads CPI, and despite hikes real rates are plunging.

Producer prices skyrocketed 1.3% in Sept., almost triple estimates. That annualizes to an inflation rate of nearly 17%! YoY PPI rose 6.3%. Sept. core rose 0.7%. That annualizes to nearly 9% inflation. PPI is a leading indicator of CPI. Despite rate hikes, real rates are plunging.

@TaviCosta: gold is already back to pre CPI levels, yields are rolling over and the dollar is starting to follow, which could be very constructive for precious metals.

And just like a beach ball held underwater…
Gold is already back to pre-CPI levels.
Yields are rolling over. The dollar is starting to follow.
This could turn very constructive for precious metals.

@LukeGromen suggests Bessent could use the ESF with China to drive a gold, oil and rare earth pool, with oil valuing gold at 500 barrels per ounce, and Russia likely joining.

revaluation, yes. but i think Bessent could use ESF and agree w/China to drive the markets there, backed by US oil & Chinese REE's...rest of world would follow. Russia would certainly go along i would think.
IE - "the gold/oil/REE Pool" where oil valued gold at 500 bbls per oz
